I often spend a lot of time thinking about cars; more of a pleasure than a chore when put to basic terms. Often my imagination gets vulnerable to flights of fancy, will mooch off on its own solidarity and device a stream of consciousness that will inexorably lead me to a missed deadline and a verbal warning from my peers. Whilst looking at the brand new Ford Fiesta 2013, my thoughts began to deviate on a slightly odd tangent. Undeniably I was thinking about Ford’s untouchable standard of vehicles and how it feels to be in direct competition in such a market-slaying titan as the new Ford Fiesta 2013. So let’s have a peep on what fiesta is all about:



Ford Fiesta comes in both diesel and petrol type engines. Under its hood fiesta is equipped with a 1.6L 16 valve Duratec I – 4, petrol engine and is a FWD drive type. Fiesta produces a horse power of 120 PS @ 6350 rpm with a torque power of 112 NM @ 5000 rpm. Fiesta comes with a 5 speed manual transmission and an optional 6 speed automatic transmission with a compression ratio of 11: 01. It has a twin independent variable – cam timing (Ti- – VCT) and a MFI fuel delivery system. With an alloy engine block material it gives a mileage of 29 kmpl in cities and 39 kmpl on highways, both on manual and automatic transmissions. These specs are for both titanium sedan and hatch back fiesta.



Fiesta welcomes you with an intuitive centre consoles, soft touch materials and painted metallic accents. It has ebony and jasper blue instrumental panel, with metallic graphic finished on its centre and floor consoles. Large cabin offering considerable head and leg room, it has an height adjustable system for the driver for easy and comfortable driving. Fiesta has power steering with leather wrapped on its steering wheel and mounted audio controls that gives a new driving experience. Other irresistible features such as leather upholstery, fabric seats, automatic climate control capability, air conditioner with heating option, 2 din integrated music system with MP3, aux – in and USB plugins and has six in dash CD changer with speakers, power mirrors, remote boot release and remote fuel tank lid release, hydrographic finished power windows, automatic front courtesy lamps and map reading lamps for the passengers convenience. It also has armrests in the rear centre. Safety measures in fiesta is fully maintained with dual front airbags, anti-brake locking system, child lock safety, electronic brake distribution,  anti – theft engine immobilizer, anti-submarine seats, emergency locking retractor and seat belts that tightens up automatically during collision.



Fiesta has a seamless mixture of style and power. Its front grille is being given a much aggressive look with crystal barrel headlamps and chiselled front rear – aprons with side skirts. With 15” sports type alloy wheels, chrome finished side panels, ingeniously designed tail lamps and body tinted radiator grille. Fiesta has the dimensions of 4282 mm in length, 1686 mm in its width and stands tall on 1468 mm in height with a wheel base of 2486 mm.
