McLaren 650S pricing starts at 232,500 euros

Feb 26, 2014

Just before hitting the limelight of the floor show at Geneva, McLaren had just revealed its all-new super sports car 650S and will further lure enthusiasts all over the world with its starting bid of 232,500 euros or a killer deal at around $280,000.

At this price range you’d be getting an upgraded 12C with the blood of P1, both of McLaren’s supercars. The “650” stands for the 650 metric horsepower (641 ‘Murican horsepower) the McLaren’s mid-mounted 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-8 is making, while the “S” stands simply for “Sport.” And that’s just a 24-hp bump over the 12C, the 650S’ dramatic-looking and aerodynamically-efficient bodywork with the new McLaren P1-inspired nose, McLaren says the car’s downforce and turn-in are improved over the 12C, while still retaining the 12C’s slick 0.36 coefficient of drag. McLaren says the new nose with its revised Airbrake are good enough for 24 percent more downforce at 150 mph.

We’ve mentioned that it has the P1 blood, well, the company will offer fixed-back carbon racing seats based on those found in the P1.

The British manufacturer is still in secrecy about 650’s performance figures, but you can expect better performance from MP4-12C.
