Audi has just outed a new powerful version of the R8 which carries the LMX moniker and special edition R8 V10 with 562bhp of road supremacy.
The new Audi R8 LMX will be the automaker’s flagship vehicle to feature a laser headlight as standard equipment and will be on top of its Audi peers. The laser headlights technology was first hinted in the R18 e-tron race car and finally it came through R8 LMX. The new laser headlight works at speeds above 37mph supports the R8 LMX’s LED high-beam projectors to brighten up through a converted white light of 5500 Kelvin color temp. You may already heard about laser headlights, and yes, you’re right that’s from BMW with its i8, it uses same technology —-heated laser headlights competition.
Under-the-hood of the new Audi R8 LMX is a limited-edition 5.2-litre V10 petrol engine which is capable of 562bhp notably that’s 20bhp more powerful than the standard R8 V10. On its transmission, it’s equipped with a standard seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox driving all four wheels. Audi claims that the R8 LMX can go 0-62mph acceleration in 3.4sec and a 198mph top speed which is 0.1sec and 1mph faster than the standard version.
At Goodwood Festival of Speed in late June, Audi will officially launch the R8 LMX and will become available to order at the same time at price of £160,025 —-you need to rush there will be just limited 99 units to be produced.
